I write, since forever. Yes, some of us wrote pre-internet times too. Like the 7-year-old Niharika who wrote a poem on ‘Leaf’. And then on ‘Life’, since she knew so much about it.

I am an avid traveller with 24 countries, and a few hundred cities imprinted in my soul. My love for travel grew when I challenged myself to travel solo. And then, the bug bit me.
I am also a fitness enthusiast. Losing 50lbs has been a huge turning point in my life. …

A new career, more money, and a greater sense of life purpose

Imagine this.

One day you’re looking at some people having a wonderful life. Not in just superficial terms, but they genuinely look so happy. They’ve found a purpose, and their passion pays them to pursue it. It’s almost envious how sorted they look.

You want this freedom. You want to be your own boss; you want to do cool things. You want to make money good enough to gift your mom something which will make her smile and to travel places resources currently don’t allow you to. You want this life, an ideal life.

Instead, you go back to your…

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I started an Instagram account when I was just 16, back in 2012. Instagram and I were both quite young back then.

I was irregular because back then it was just another app on my iPod Touch. I would rather spend my time on Facebook chat than to figure out this new app with a weird, brown camera icon.

Fast forward to the 18-year-old me who went to university — I turned my life around with a new journey. The journey of health and wellness. The start of my weight loss journey to lose 50lbs and overcome my obesity.

Instagrammable expectations are so #extra

People love to criticise millennials. Our spending choices, offbeat career paths, unorthodox opinions on marriage and lack of interest to buy a house all come under scrutiny because it's different. That's really all it is, not good or bad, but different.

We are born during a different time and are growing up with the world-changing faster than before.

Not that long ago, it was expensive to talk on the phone and use the internet, but now the Internet is cheap and everybody is available a click away. 10 years ago, we couldn’t even imagine ordering food (or swiping to get…

It starts with some shameless flirting.

Think of the last time you were in love. That feeling of butterflies in your tummy when you saw your high school crush pass in the corridor. That sense of the world being lifted beneath your feet when you date for the first time and everything feels beautiful. You’re distracted and thinking of them all the time, but there's so much energy and enthusiasm in you. Life feels great overall, doesn’t it?

This is because feeling a deep sense of love releases dopamine in your body. It gets released each time you think of your loved one with affection. …

Picture your ideal life.

No really, picture it. Think of what you’ll do, how your day would be. There are no limitations here to your imagination. Think of what you’ll do if you had a choice to do something drastically different from your current life.

Forget the safe jobs or safe subjects which society has always told you to follow as a track to proven success. What if all this did not exist, what would you do? How much would you like to earn for starters, and ultimately?

I did this as well.

I pictured myself working for a few…

If somebody told me to write ten things a day that I’m grateful for, I’d definitely think they’re crazy.

How do you find ten things to write each day? How are you motivated to actually write them? Why should you write it apart from the fact that during those few minutes you’ll feel good and grateful?

It all sounds so silly.

Back in 2017 when I read The Magic, the first chapter asked us to write ten things we’re grateful for because abundance attracts abundance.

It’s through this journey that I realised being grateful brings in more goodness because when…

It’s often the simple stuff that can help you through tough times.

If you’re in your 20s, there’s a lot you’re going through. You’re out of university, you’re in your first few years of work and at the prime time of your health. You’re still discovering how the world is because the last 20 years were all about being confined in the walls of your home, school, and college — and the rules made by these institutions.

You may feel a little lost right now, a little flaky about where you want to be, and confused because you’re bombarded with thoughts like “is this where I want to be” or “am I…

And how you can do it too without burning yourself

As a new writer, you read about people writing and publishing an insane amount of articles and promoting volume. Then, they tell you this is the only way to become a writer. But you and I both know it's difficult.

Does writing more work? Yes.

Does quantity lead to quality? Mostly.

Does it mean you write 20 articles a month? No.

Why? Because you’ll start disliking writing and will burn out.

Think of a child learning how to swim. Doing a 200m swim makes them a splendid swimmer, but to reach there they’ll have to warm up, practice, learn techniques…

From 5 articles to 20 articles a month.

Are you a budding writer who’s trying to get better at writing? Does the advice you read comprise write every day and publish more? Are you tired of listening to the same monotonous advice?

Well, I tried the generic advice in my own way, and a lot changed. We’ll get to that soon.

Here’s what my output looks like for 2021:

  • January: 5
  • February: 6
  • March: 17
  • April: 20
  • May: 7 (this article written is on May 08, the goal is 20+ for the month)

Yes, I know 20 articles a month sounds cool, but it was a gradual journey…
